Delivery Driver

FARM DESCRIPTION: Flynn Creek Farm is a certified organic farming operation in its second season of becoming a regenerative farming operation. The produce side of the operation will be the primary focus for the 2024 season as we continue to implement the plans and setup for the our farming operation’s vision. Our produce will be sold primarily through a local large wholesale restaurant account that we are developing an intertwined relationship with. We are committed to building efficient systems, providing an educational and gratifying work environment, and producing high-quality nutrient dense food for our local community.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Flynn Creek Farm is seeking an individual to deliver our produce to four restaurants in the Madison area twice a week and two restaurants in the Milwaukee area twice a week. In addition to the produce, they will also need to deliver cases of kombucha cans and bags of rice from a central location in Madison to all the Madison and Milwaukee restaurants. The delivery days will be Tuesday through Friday, with the possibility of a separate delivery on Monday for just kombucha and rice to the Madison locations. The individual will need a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, comfortable driving a Sprinter van, and someone who is very punctual. Deliveries need to be leaving the farm by 6:30 A.M., which means arriving at the farm by 6:00 A.M. They will need to check the orders as they load, deliver the crates of produce efficiently using a dolly, and return empty crates from the stores back to the farm. After arriving back, they will unload the van, help re-stack the crates, and communicate with the manager. This position is part-time and expected to take around 25 hours per week but can be turned into a full-time position if desired, which would be working with the field crew on the produce operation after deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Desire to be punctual

  • Excited to work with our produce farming operation even if it’s just delivering the produce

  • Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated individual who is open to receiving feedback.

  • Strong communication skills among coworkers and managers

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds is required.

  • Reliable transportation to the farm is also required.

POSITION DETAILS:

Start Date(s): Early to Mid May

End Date(s): Mid November – Mid December

Hourly Rate

  • Starting at $18-19/hr (depending on skills / experience)

    • Part-Time: 3 days per week(~25 hours)- delivery only

    • Full-Time: 4-5 days per week(32+ hours)- if desire to work with field crew after delivery or non-delivery days

    • 1st Year- 24 hours, 2nd Year- 40 hours, 3rd Year- 50 hours, 4th Year- 60 hours, 5th Year- 80 hours
